Watch dogs

5 Feb

A watchdog differs from a guard dog in that it watched the home and alerts others to the intruder through barking, but does not carry out any further actions needed in order to force the intruder into leaving. Watchdogs tend to be breeds that are smaller in size, more excitable dogs that will bark vigorously at the presence of an intruder or in any situations they experience as out of the ordinary. Many small and toy dog breeds, which would not qualify as guard dogs are excellent watch dogs, as their only duty is to alert their owners with their barking[1].
